Who We Are:

Wheaton College, initially founded as an all-female seminary in 1834 and then as a college in 1912, became coeducational in 1988. That very year, a small group of male undergraduates petitioned Wheaton to create its very first all-male acapella group. In 2012, the Gentlemen Callers created the Gentlemen Callers Alumni union to continue the acapella brotherhood and comradery past graduation. Now, we are proudly raising $100,000 to create a self-sustainable Endowment for future generations of Wheaton students.

Our Goal:

As of 2012, the main objective of the Alumni Union has been to fundraise, manage, and appropriate $100,000 for a Gentlemen Caller’s Endowment Fund. Currently, the Endowment lies at $75,000, with the remaining $25,000 to be raised by the end of the 2017 Spring semester (that's just five months!). This huge accomplishment has only been possible thanks to the gracious donations of friends, family, and alumni of the Gentlemen Callers. To make sure we reach our goal, the Gentlemen Callers student group has been working themselves to the bone performing at private house-party fundraisers. Our house party performances will hopefully fund a majority of our remaining goal. With this in mind, we would still love to share our story (as well as the fruit of our labor) with the world! So...

We now call for your help in reaching our goal!

How the Endowment Will Work:

Winning this campaign provides for the Gentlemen Callers a permanent, renewable source of income. Forever. Our Endowment, once formed, will be invested by Wheaton College and will gain interest over time. If successful, even without any additional donations, after ten years of accruing interest, our Endowment will have generated $62,000 of income. By the GC's 50th reunion, it will have generated $155,000 of income. After 35 years, the Endowment will have generated $325,000. This trend is expected to continue well into future years.

Where Your Donation Will Go:

So, what will this income contribute to? It is now time to begin the next chapter and help this brotherhood fulfill its potential. With this Endowment, we can reach that potential. We would like to see the Gentlemen Callers give back to the College that has provided so much for us. Ultimately, in the not-too-distant future, we plan to establish an arts-based scholarship at Wheaton. One of Wheaton's biggest strengths is its diverse and creative student body. We want to reinforce that strength by providing financial aid to students who display exceptional creativity and musical prowess. Everyone should deserve a chance at their dreams!

Until then, the Union will use the income to enhance Wheaton student’s experiences  by funding CD recording, mixing, and producing, voice lesson stipends, and travel expenses to collegiate competitions and performances. This  income raised from our crowdfunding effort will support the talented alumni  community by subsidizing our five-year-recurring alumni reunion concerts  and by creating career-building networking events on and off campus.

If you haven't yet given, it's time to get in the game!

There is a fantastic  array of pledge rewards for those who donate. If you have already donated  through Wheaton's Gifts Office, first off, thank you! If you have yet to finish  paying your pledge, no worries! All donations given through this web page  count towards your pledge! We ask you to please consider increasing your  donation.
